Today I am excited to share the latest episode of my video series, “Nutshell”, where we explore a topic that profoundly impacts our lives: our relationship with money.
Why Talk About Money?
Money is a significant part of our lives, influencing our choices and freedom, whether we want it or not. We need money to survive and maintain a decent quality of life. Despite its bad press, money can amplify who we are, for better or worse. Essentially, whoever we are without money, we will be more of with money.
It is imperative that more deserving people create and utilize wealth for themselves. They should be the ones who choose, who say no, who leave toxic situations or relationships, and who contribute to making the world a better place.
Financial Empowerment and Mental Health
Being financially empowered, especially from an emotional perspective, is crucial. Many people suffer from money-related stress, which significantly affects mental health. In the U.S. alone, over 70% of people identify money as a significant cause of stress. This issue spans across demographics, socioeconomic characteristics, and health-related variables.
The Importance of Psychological Work Around Money
Understanding your unique relationship with money and doing the internal work on your beliefs is key to reducing stress and improving financial well-being. This “internal” work is paramount to producing positive results in your life, yet it is often overlooked in favor of external forms of financial education like technical courses on finance, investing, budgeting, or modeling.
Doing the internal work takes effort, but hear me when I say that you can’t outrun your internal mind.
How Coaching Can Help
When you come to see me for coaching, we explore your thoughts, beliefs, and feelings about money. This process helps you re-educate yourself financially. We explore and understand where you set the limit between facts and stories, morality versus emotions. Step by step, you decide what to do with the societal and familial programming you’ve assimilated, often without noticing.
In a Nutshell
A positive relationship with money can mean the difference between abundance and unnecessary suffering, regardless of the actual figures in your bank statement. Coaching can help you on your path to financial re-education, aligning you emotionally when and where it matters most to you.
I invite you to watch the full episode on YouTube where I dive deeper into these concepts.
